The problem

You’re losing detention money — and you can’t see it happening.

Detention pay is money you’re owed when a shipper or receiver holds your truck too long. The catch is catching it.

The filing window is brutal

Most brokers only accept a detention claim for 24–48 hours after the load. Miss it and the money is simply gone — no appeal.

Drivers can’t catch it all

Detention gets logged only if a tired driver remembers to note the exact minute they arrived and left. That’s where the revenue leaks, every single week.

So it quietly adds up

A handful of missed detentions a month, across a fleet, is thousands of dollars a year you earned and never billed for.

How it works

Live in minutes. Nothing for your drivers to do.

No app to install, no behaviour to change. That’s the whole point — the moment a driver has to remember something, the money starts leaking again.

  1. 1

    Connect your ELD

Two minutes, read-only. We plug into Geotab, Samsara or Motive — the system you already run. We never write to your logs.

  2. 2

We scan the last 30 days

In the background, DwellWatch replays every stop your trucks made and works out where they sat past free time. No spreadsheets, no data entry.

  3. 3

    See what you’re owed

A plain dollar figure, broken down by truck, facility and day — each one backed by the evidence you’d need to actually collect it.

What you actually get

The invoice is easy. The evidence is the hard part.

Anyone can send a broker a bill for detention. Getting them to pay it is the job. DwellWatch builds the packet that leaves nothing to argue with — the proof, attached to every claim.

  • Gate-in / gate-out

Timestamped arrival and departure, derived from the GPS trail.

  • Breadcrumb map

Your truck plotted inside the facility, on satellite imagery.

  • The dollar math

Free time, detention time, and the amount owed — itemized.

Why DwellWatch is different

Every other tool asks your drivers to do the work.

Log the arrival. Note the departure. Flag the wait. Drivers are paid to drive, not to do data entry — so it doesn’t happen, and that’s exactly where your detention pay disappears.

DwellWatch asks your drivers for nothing. It reads the data your ELD is already collecting, and does the rest silently.

FAQ

The questions fleet managers ask first

Does it work with my ELD?

DwellWatch works with Geotab, Samsara and Motive — the three most common systems for fleets your size. If you’re on Samsara or Motive, you can connect today through a direct link.

Do my drivers have to do anything?

No. That’s the whole idea. There’s no app to install and nothing to remember. DwellWatch reads the location data your ELD already collects.

How do I actually get the money?

You invoice the broker, the same way you do for the load itself — DwellWatch just hands you the detention amount and the evidence to back it. The broker pays you directly. We’re never in the middle.

Is the audit really free?

Yes, and there’s no credit card to start. We scan your last 30 days and show you what you were owed. You only pay if you subscribe to keep catching detention going forward.

What does it cost after that?

A flat monthly fee based on your fleet size — $49 for up to 5 trucks, $299 for 6–25, or $15 per truck above that. Never a percentage of what you recover.

Is my data safe?

Access is read-only and your ELD credentials are encrypted at rest. We never write to your logs, and we never sell your data.
